The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Foundation Gallery is pleased to announce a two-person exhibition featuring the works of Jerrold Belland and Trace Chiodo. The exhibition will run from Feb. 4 to March 21, showcasing a collection of artworks where location is integral. The foundation Gallery is open Tuesdays through Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free and open to the public.
Belland and Chiodo are both residents of the historic 16th Street Studios in Racine, Wisconsin. This location is essential to the artworks on display. Chiodo’s Industrial Abstracts and Industrial Introverts series were composed from explorations of the expansive 150-year-old building. Belland’s Fourth Floor View paintings are observations of the urban landscape from his studio window. Building on this theme of place, Belland will also show works from his Memorial Drive series.
On Feb. 19, visitors will have the opportunity to engage with the artists during an Artist Talk with Belland and Chiodo at 2 p.m. in Bedford Hall at the RITA, followed by a reception from 4 to 6 p.m., in the Foundation Gallery.
